So, how was your Sunday? Mine was great. I had to step in and break up a fight and then got verbally abused by the mother of one of the miscreants, told I was a fucking idiot and barred from ever going in their restaurant......
The pub in the village down the valley is owned by the equivalent of a bunch of Novyi Russkiy. They come in the pub about once every 3 months and they are fine, a little loud, a little arrogant but basically ok.
Tonight they came in. The owner, his wife, their son who is the chef, two daughters and their son's best friend who is in the Parachute Regiment and just back from Afghanistan.
The son and the solider got incredibly loud and so, apparently, the table next to them complainned to them and told them to keep the noise down.
Next thing I know the solider and two guys from the complainning table are eye to eye and squaring up to each other. So I wandered along and got them to calm down and sit down. They asked if they had been noisy and I said that yes, actually two fo them had, and the two lads apologised. The mother then stated that she " had not been fucking noisy and was I asking her to leave?". To which I replied that I wasn't asking them to leave but they had been noisy. At which point she told her husband that he was a fucking cunt for agreeing with me and that I was barred from ever coming in their pub as I was also a fucking cunt
So, that was splendid
Damn I do love a good bar fight. I am glad that your pub was not torn up. I think that their's is a pub that you would not like so that is no big deal. As far as you being a cunt, you were in good company with her husband. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black.

It wouldn't be the rural English idyll without some internecine violence. Have they burned you in a big wicker man yet? If not, I hope the rest of your week improves.

Have you been in a real fight yet? Or been injured? Just wondering as my husband seems to think that is an integral part of owning a bar. I imagine Bath and Baltimore are quite different, though.
